The writer of the poem that inspired me to compose the music that became this song is Clay Greager who hailed from Key West. Clay was an entrepreneur of a sort, delving into owning and operating a Key West memoralbia store stocked with cool souveniers from the Keys and just as important, memories of what I call "Our War", because we both served Viet Nam, he as a door gunner in a Huey chopper and I as a combat engineer. Later after the business cooled, he went into the cigarbusiness selling premium cigars. I will include later on this website a song that I wrote about Clay called appropriately "Last Flight Out". He was one of the best friends a man could wish for. We spent many hours sitting in his shop, he on a worn yet comfy leather chair behind the counter and I on a strool at the end. Memories and stories so thick you coudn't brush them away. Clay and I shared a friend, Paul Hardt who hosts a podcast called "Life's Learning Curve" and featured Clay on some of

Bob Pults is a singer/songwriter from Sealy, Texas, and has been writing original songs for many years. He concentrates on life experiences of his own and the happiness and sadness of others. Most are simple ballads and some are close to being a rock type song and some are just for fun. The track "The Legend” provides a great sound and is a well written fun song about a local well-known couple who are the winningest couple in every dance contest. His partner, Alec Camp, from Fort Worth, Texas, also has written a few songs included in this list, and also creates melody and composition for each of Bob's songs.

Both have extensive experience having owned recording studios and been in the music business for decades. Their music can also be found on all the leading social media & music platforms.
